Building an effective team to revolutionize analog IP

Rachel Baker, Marketing Manager, Agile Analog

At Agile Analog, we have been focused on building an effective team of dedicated electronics engineers and industry specialists in order to progress in our mission to revolutionize the world of analog IP. This Summer, having enjoyed watching the Olympic Games in Paris, we only need to look at the medal winners to see why teamwork is so important. It’s clear that even the individual sports stars have a strong support network behind the scenes.

Here at Agile Analog, there is a mix of highly experienced and fresh talent - all collaborating closely and working towards our common goal. We have skilled analog design engineers, digital design experts, software engineers, as well as those in business development and support services.

I chatted with several colleagues to hear what they believe are the benefits of being part of the Agile Analog team.

Learning from each other

Agile Analog is fortunate to have a team that includes engineers with different levels and years of experience. This means that there is a great opportunity for us to learn from each other.

Shukla (Senior Software Engineer) says:

“The Agile Analog team is comprised of some of the best engineers I have ever worked with. There are several colleagues that I reach out to when I have specific questions. I have also had the pleasure of being able to advise others about my areas of expertise.”

Areeba (Analog Engineer), who started out as a graduate engineer at Agile Analog, confirms:

“I work with such talented engineers, and I have learnt a lot from my colleagues. I feel blessed to be part of an organization like this at an early stage of my career, where highly skilled and experienced engineers are happy to share their knowledge.”

Ron (Technical Writer) adds:

“As a technical writer I depend on the expertise of our engineers, and I am constantly learning. We talk things through in detail to ensure that I have accurate information with which to prepare and generate documentation.”

Embracing fresh ideas

At Agile Analog, we are always keen to evaluate the effectiveness of the way that we work, and we are not afraid to embrace fresh ideas or a new approach.

Shukla explains:

“We have regular reviews to assess the issues being faced. It is important to us to continue to iterate on our ideas and adapt when needed. No two days are ever the same at Agile Analog and each individual’s contributions are meaningful to the success of the team.”

Areeba asserts:

“I really appreciate how open Agile Analog is to new input. Fresh ideas are always welcomed, and staff are actively encouraged to share their thoughts and feedback.”

Ron continues:

“I have found that interactions with colleagues have been great, with respect going both ways, providing a solid foundation for teamwork.”

Supporting each other

As all winning teams will tell you, the key to success is a positive and supportive environment. We are a growing but relatively small company, so staff get to know each other quite quickly.

Shukla agrees:

“We get on with our team mates well. Whenever there have been challenges, we have supported one another.”

Areeba says:

“At Agile Analog everyone is very supportive and kind. To me they are like a family.”

Ron confirms:

“I have found my colleagues to be very supportive, helping me to improve my work output.”

Having fun together

At Agile Analog we work hard, but we are also committed to ensuring that every person feels part of the team and has fun.

Areeba explains:

“We have hybrid working, but there are social activities throughout the year where we all come together and have a great time.”

Shukla comments:

“Sometimes we do technical exercises such as a coding dojo. It’s fun to play around with different problems and work with people we may not usually work with.”

Ron concludes:

“Regular visits to the office in Cambridge and online social events help the team to bond. Colleagues take time to chat on a personal level and not just on a work or technical level.”

The importance of diversity

For me, another thing that I believe is of great benefit to Agile Analog is that we have colleagues with different backgrounds. We are a truly diverse group – with male and female engineers and specialists coming together from far and wide across Europe, Asia and the US. I think we have all the qualities of a successful sports team, but with the extra advantage of mixed genders and cultures! I feel very lucky to work with such an amazing team of people.
